“The Wild Robot”

This film made me tear up five times. I walked out sniffling. I’ve maybe teared up in 2-3 movies in my entire life. And it was entirely tears of joy. The film managed to evoke so much emotion in me through its masterful experience.

What this film does so well is utilize animation, sound, musical scores, DIALOGUE, and personal growth harmoniously. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Please go see it.

“They're only truly great who are truly good.” George Chapman

There’s one common denominator when it comes to greatness: what you give back to the world—what you aspire to as well. Daily actioned intentions are important, as there are many destinations that will never be truly reached, but the pursuit is still noble. To pursue leaving impressions of benevolence on the lives of others is to be great. The money, the possessions that all the assholes in the world have, it doesn’t matter. Anyone can get the material; but few work against their selfish human nature to leave a legacy of truly being good to others. If you strip away the facade of wealth, and there’s nothing there, you are a failure.

"One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world." Malala Yousafza

This one drives me mad, because of its truth. Anyone who became incredible at anything established a new precedent on how far anyone can go in that particular area. So we know that any child (or adult, anyone can start at any time) can become a Washington, a Hamilton, a Michelangelo--but almost none of them do it. Because we as parents (and society as well) fail to equip them with what they need to achieve greatness. Around us, you see children everywhere, and so many of them struggling. So then, with this knowledge, 99% of the children in the world end up achieving less than they could, because of their circumstances. This is neglect in a league of its own.

“Strive not to be of success, but rather to be of value.” ALBERT EINSTEIN

This is probably the most important and impactful quote I’ve read in years. It summarizes what I’ve personally discovered, but also what the world desperately needs to hear. To become of value, your direction must not to be of sole personal success, but to be of a success that can aid others. There is no purpose to life other than helping others; otherwise you’re here to chase dopamine every day until you die, and nobody will remember your name because you had zero impact.

“The hardest thing is to take less when you can get more.” Kin hubbard

Oh, to yearn for the fulfillment of your potential. I’ve been taking “less” for nearly 3 decades (I’m 29). But I decided that the more is worth the time that is required to be put in. After all my years of watching nearly everyone around me “take less,” I know I want my legacy to be “get more.” What about you?

“The whole secret of a successful life is to find out what is one's destiny to do, and then do it.” HENRY FORD

To live is to be simple. The secret to quotes such as these, however, is that there are a thousand hidden implications behind each word. To “do it,” you must master your thoughts and intention. You must bring your demons to heel and probably fix your credit score. The formula is simple, but to fulfill those variables take some a lifetime.

"Believe you can and you're halfway there" Theodore Roosevelt

One could argue that belief is actually more than 50%. Showing up is believing. One who does not believe that he will conquer, will most likely not conquer. But action must follow; to live a life built only on belief and "law of attraction" is to play Russian Roulette with your legacy.

“It’s never too late to become who you want to be. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” F. Scott fitzgerald

The most important tree to climb is the one that allows you to see over the mountains of your past. There is always more land. Always more trees to climb - millions even. As long as you do not stop, the mathematics support your ability to succeed.

“The acts of life we repeat every day need to be automatized. They must be turned into stable and reliable habits, so they lose their complexity and gain predictability and simplicity.”

One who fails 999 times, may decide he will never fail again after his last attempt. He may leave his number of failures at 999 if he unites his being into a collective enough. Anyone can literally change their life in 24 hours for the better. It takes a decision to begin a new plane of existence for yourself.

“Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.”

My goal as a writer has been to motivate, encourage, inspire—whichever cheesy buzz word you’d like to choose. My point is, I want to offer value to readers. In the process of reaching my own aspirations, I want to thought-provoke others into finding their own.
